Default Basic T206 checklist question

Hey Guys,
So my goal is to get to the 520 mark at some point.
Most of what I have read has the set complete at 524 (Wagner, Plank, Magie, Doyle)
But I printed out a checklist at t206.org and it has 525. Ive also seen some say its 526. So whats the 525 and 526?
It doesnt matter as Im going to 520 to consider myself complete, but Im just curious.
Thanks

525 probably includes the Cobb Red Portrait with the Ty Cobb back.

There are several cards that some include to grow the list above 524. As Craig mentioned Cobb w/Cobb back is one. SGC used to list this in their set registry, but I believe they changed it about a year ago. Some also list the 'nodgrasss variation as a seperate card.

As Jim and Craig stated some lists include the Cobb/Cobb, Nodgrass, and Murr'y.

My personal list is 524. I don't really understand why the Cobb/Cobb would be considered an additional card as no other card with multiple back brand ads has one separated from the rest. I also consider the Nodgrass and cards of the like print anomalies and not true variations to be listed separately like the Magie error.

Print defects have been discussed several times. Here are a couple of the threads:

Ok guys, good to know.

My list is 525 and the extra is the Cobb.

I also agree that anamolies should not be listed as separate cards.

Ill stick with the 524.

Thanks again.

Most likely because Burdick listed it as a T206 in the ACC. See Leon's post #85 in the "Appease me, please....one more time T206/T213/T215?" thread.

Best Regards,
Craig

Hi Craig -

I understand Burdick listed the Ty Cobb tobacco as a T206 ad back brand but why single out that one back on a checklist? Most checklists are complete at 524 which is 524 different front images and captions. I don't believe any one of those are singled out by the ad back brand. And since the Cobb Red Portrait with all back brands are consolidated into one of those 524 why another Red Cobb Portrait just for the Cobb back?

If you consider the Cobb/Cobb to be a T206 and are putting a back set together it's necessary for completing your set. But if your goal is to complete a run of all the different front images than the Cobb/Cobb wouldn't be necessary.

The beauty of this issue is that there are so many different ways to collect it and I say do it with whatever checklist meets your collecting goals.
