Default e94 overprints

Posted By: robert a

I know it's hard to find any rhyme or reason to how these were printed since they're pretty darn uncommon, but I noticed that J.C.'s e94 kleinow with blomes overprint is the same color as mine.

Are certain overprints found only with particular players/colors?

Forgive me if this has already been discussed.

I would think Leon and/or Pete Calderon could answer this as they are both knowledgable about these. I have a few if you would like to email me, I can give you the colors and overprint combination, Dan.

E94 Overprints are near and dear to my heart and I have not seen any particular color patterns in the players and so forth (pertaining to the front background colors) although I have seen more olive ones with overprints, in general. As for the overprints themselves almost all of them are unique (to their slogan) colors. The exception is the Oppie Dildock ones which I have seen in red and blue ( I believe ). All of the Blomes one's are in maroon (sort of brownish).....and for players I have seen more Byrne's with overprints, than others, but I think this is just a coincidence.. breast regards

I think you'll find the overprints (if and when you can find them) are just about equally divided among the colors.
As far as players go, my Cicotte is the only one I have ever seen but it is entirely possible someone else has one. I have never seen a Wagner overprint.
