They look 1970s to me....when was the last year there were 16 teams in the NFL? That would give an indication that the football one is at least that old. They're both pretty cool, but I really like that football one.

The football helmets one is rare, and store display pieces-- especially with the product like that-- are definitely collectible. Worth bidding on and displaying at home. I agree that it looks to be 1970s.

In general, even if not valuable financially, store display signs and such are limited to quantity and often rare. Even today, store displays are limited in production and not meant for the public.

the helmets are desirable. I would wager they are from 1967-1969 however. The NFL and AFL merged in 1970, and the display shows only the "old" NFL teams. The Colts, Browns and Steelers were moved to the AFC at merger time, which makes it unlikely the standings would have these teams as provided for the "NFL" after 1970. Since the Saints are represented and didn't play their first game until 1967, that dates this piece to the 1967-69 era. I remember that Kessler was very active in sports-related stuff during this time, with their little forecast booklets and associated nicknacks. Can't price it for you, but a nice piece, IMO.

Todd is correct on the dates, and the Football one is very desirable. Sounds like a smaller local auction, so you may be able to attain this for a good price (depends on the exposure it gets, etc).

I would think anything under $400 for this would be a steal. Since you NEVER see these, it could go higher. Can you report back, and let us know if you got it, or what it ended up selling for?

The auction is of items from an old bar, its prime was the 50's tru the 70's.

I used to have some of those baseball posters in a slightly smaller size. They were for the 1983 All Star game in Chicago (I think). I am guessing that poster is the same one but in a larger size but when you see it in person it should say right on it.

I was able to win the Kessler display for $130, myself and another, bid on it back and forth if not for him being there, I could have got it for $10. It is pretty dusty should it be cleaned in anyway or left as is. Any advice on how to care for it? I also picked up this program for $12.00.Thanks.
