Thank you, Jeff. I had fun finishing that '66 Topps set. I really thought I was going to build a Fleer set next, but my last couple of sets were AFL sets. While I really, really like the AFL sets, I wanted to branch out.

The moment I saw that Warfield, I was hooked. It made me take a closer look at the rest of the '65 Philadelphia set. There is some great photography in there! The Eller card is cool, too (it will be here next week ).

The idea of adding the NFL cards from '65 to the AFL cards from the Topps set ultimately appealed to me as well. I may go that route with '66 as well. This '65 set will be exmt-nm, with some graded stars but mostly ungraded cards in Cardsaver Is.

A few pickups for my '65 Philadelphia set. Mr. Eller got a bit crooked during the scanning process, but you get the idea. And Mr. Perkins does not have a scratch on his forehead..weird.

Thanks, guys. I am enjoying what I am collecting now more than I have in a long time. Football has been a good move for me. So much good stuff and most of it is relatively affordable.

Jeff, I actually thought of that very thing. I have been a Net54 member with this name a little over 4 1/2 years. It isn't like I know that many other people on Net54 or even post a lot, but it would feel like starting over to switch. I would be like the member formerly known as....

If I had known then I would go the football route, I probably wouldn't have selected such a baseball oriented UID. I may just end up being "that guy with the baseball name" on the football board.

I knew the Aguilitas cards from the boxers. I've not seen any others and online all I could find were two auctions (REA and Ryan's) for the baseball version. I don't know if those Marines are USMC (Gitmo perhaps) or Cuban.

1952 Bowman small #48 George Halas RC completes my set! The Standard Catalog places the NM "value" at $200, and my eBay auction bid of $33.46 (shipped free) won the card for me at 16.73% of "book". Looking at eBay past sales of this card, it looks like I did ok, and I'm glad to put this set to rest!

Nice Tarkenton. He is one of those guys I grew up watching but was never a huge fan, but over the years have come to appreciate him more, and have a few of his cards graded and looking for more. That's a nice one, and was probably a good deal due to the OC, but I'll take cards that look like that with an OC all day long.

Hey Dan! Hows it going?

I believe Photo Bucket now wants to charge you for uploading and storing photos. That's why you see those "update" messages.

As for some a few latest pick ups.....

I had a nice NM 68 Butkus, but spotted this one at a good price.

I also Had a BGS 7.5 Ditka, but I spotted this one with much better centering and grabbed it.

And just when your about to give up hope of ever finding super high quality cards in the wild I stumbled across these beauties! I guess persistent searching does pay off!

Hey John - good to see you. So I'm up early today, sang God Bless America and said my Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag I have out front. Isn't America AWESOME? It sure is. God Bless!!!!

Regarding the lack of images tied to photofucket - so a person that is simply viewing the images can't see them unless a user of photofucket (like Larry) pays for the 3rd party? If that's the case then every photofucket user needs to leap over to an alternative site like Imgur that provides a FREE and easy way to host images.

Regarding your images (just above here) - there are NO images at all not even a placemarker that should show an image should be there error like Larry's.

Lets all sing it in unison Dan. "oh say can you see......

Im currently hosting my photos on the Unisquare auction site, not all that convenient though.

Imgur? Might have to check that sight out.

Are you saying you can not see any of my photos or Roger Staubach signature line?

Too bad Net54 is lagging behind. Most boards allow you to post photos directly from your computer.

This was my white whale that I finally got. When one does show up, I'm usually the underbidder or it way out my budget.

by the dawn's early light....

I cannot see your photos BUT can see your two flags with Roger "never took a knee" Staubach in between the two flags.

1. Net54 allows you to upload images directly to the thread response. Go to new reply and look for the little mountain icon and you can see the tab to select to upload photos.

2. Imgur.com is super easy to use and highly recommend it. You can easily create folders and upload images in bulk or individually in to each folder. If you upload a lot of images at a time it can get a little flaky for some reason but I think I typically upload about 10 photos at a time.

Super pick up on the Sammy Baugh Jason!

Dan, I do go to that mountain icon, but you have to enter a URL address where the photo's are stored and can not upload photos directly from your own computer.

Can you see my 1968 FB photos Posted earlier in the thread above now?

John - the weird thing is that I cannot see what you posted (photos) but can see them in Blackies response commenting just above here. (head scratch)

Nevermind on little mountain thing - you're right it requires a URL = I recommend Imgur.com over photofucket (free vs. mandatory subscription)

Eckstrom was once the coach of Ohio State - Joe Carr sent him a copy of Pro Football, Its Ups and Downs by Dr. Harry March

Those Murads are cool, Dan. I collect vintage lacrosse cards, and I've got the 3-4 from that set.
