Who Am I?

I am the only pitcher among the the top 50 in complete games
never to appear on a baseball card by myself.

Tell your fellow Board Members who I am, and why my picture
never made it onto a piece of old cardboard. Ah to have "a card of my own"

Some of you certainly have my brother's card.

Darn it all, Kevin got to it before I did, and, most annoying of all, A.l got to the JOKE before I did! I was really looking forward to that one!!!

Will White, my #1 player choice to be enshrined.

When I look back at Pud Galvin and Jack Clarkson's stats as far as complete games and innings pitched it is simply amazing . 600 innings at any level is astounding .

Up until the clue I was leaning towards Pink Hawley. He has a Cameo Pepsin pin, but no card of which I am aware. Once the brother clue was offered, I knew it couldn't be Pink Hawley because his brother, Blue, died too young to have any card.

I could be wrong, but I believe this is the first time that we have seen the word "I" in a post from WE the Bruces.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Andy- so you're suggesting that Bruce pose the question as "who are we?" That would be plain confusing.

To make it even more confusing:

"Some of you have my brother's card."

So, if I am clear on this, Deacon White is one of the Bruces?

Okay, riddle me this:

7 players in MLB history have finished their careers with a lifetime BA above .340 and 1500 RBI's. Name them.

This is an easy one to look up, so try not to as all cheaters burn in eternal hellfire (I'm not positive that's true, but for the sake of this question, let's assume it is).

Note: the first 6 are pretty easy, the 7th one surprised me.

I would assume Ruth, Cobb and J. Jackson.

Edited to add: I'm way off with Jackson.

How about Gehrig, Hornsby and Sisler for the other easy ones?

I have to edit, too! Am surprised that Sisler didn't even have 1200 RBI.

4 correct so far:

Ruth
Cobb
Hornsby
Gehrig

Sisler is incorrect. With the exception of about 4 years in his prime, he ribbied like a little girlieman.

WIlliams has to be in there.

Edit: I bet you the one that surprised you was Heilmann. It took me until now ti think of him, but I bet that's who it is. I can't come up with the last one--bet I'll kick myself once somebody says it.

Anthony,

I won't play because I am the kind that has to cheat, but wanted to let you know that this research ruined my day!!!

Without giving away any answers, I was very upset to find that Mickey Mantle was passed this year by Jeff Kent on the career RBI list. What is the matter with baseball these days? I want a recount!!!

Not sure I would have come up w/Heilmann but the other six are probably Ruth, Gehrig, Hornsby, Cobb, Williams and Speaker.
