Default 2014 Vermont "Find" 1948 Leaf Boxing

NOTE: Sorry, I meant Vermont "Find" in the title...oops!

Just wanted to share a "once in a lifetime" find in Northern Vermont that was made recently. 1948 Leaf Boxing, 1948 and 1949 Bowman Baseball, 1948 Bowman Basketball, and 1941 Playball Baseball.

The 1941 Playballs were handled big time (the kid was about 10 at the time). The 1948-49 cards were AMAZING! From pack to shoebox and never to be touched again!

My buddy was the "finder" and he has allowed me graciously to buy (don't tell my wife please!!!) a bunch of boxing and 1948 Basketball. I am slowly testing the waters with this stuff and currently have about 5 graded (SGC) cards up that end Sunday night. EBAY user ID: a-little-of-everything .

I just wanted to show you the Dempsey. I am SO tempted to send it in but am afraid of the centering and the slightest hint of a rubber band mark only on 1 side and quite frankly, you would miss it 9 times out of 10 it is that light but I like it better in a Lucite at this point. I priced it at the low end of SMR at 7.5 level. Not in a great hurry to move it. Thanks for looking!

P.S. Take a look at the back of the card also. It is beautiful all around!

Between the centering and the corners, I'm guessing the Dempsey is a 6.

If the rubber band mark is perceptible (which it obviously is), much lower.

Good luck with the sales!

thanks, you just saved me $20 on the grading! All I know is that it looks good in the Lucite, damn rubber band bandits!

Default Neighbor :)

Howdy!
I'm from Vermont too...although I left in 1998.
Just curious in what town did you found these?
And of course congratulations!
(BTW, if selling, I think you should still get them graded!)
