Default ? Autograph Question ?

New to collecting autographs and I need some direction.......
Are there auctions that specialize in just older ballplayer autograph or maybe dealer that you can trust that might have those older ones you don't see ?
I want to collect only NY Highlanders and Yankees from the teens 1903 - 1919

Thanks for you help,
Gary McNabb

My best advice is to find a respected dealer such as Richard Simon. Lucky for you he's on this forum. There are not many good dealers left so I would certainly reach out to him. Unless you want to do ALL the research, I can promise you you'll end up with a collection reeking of forgeries. Good Luck!

.

Gary,

I would also recommend that you reach out to Rhys Yeakley, of (Prewarsports / RMY Auctions) too.
Rhys is also a Net54/Old Cardboard member. He has always done me right with older Detroit Tigers
autographs over the years. And while his focus may appear to be with vintage photographs, he has
assured me he still buys & sells autographs, of which he still has a wonderful range of vintage autographs
to select from.

Good Luck !

UPDATE:

A quick look at records I kept indicate that Rhys (Prewarsports) had the following NY Highlanders available
for purchase IN 2016 (which may, or may not remain available now; but worth asking about):

Barney Wolfe
Neal Ball
Jack Warhop
Jack Doyle
Harry Howell
Birdie Cree
Jack Lelivelt
Mike Martin (Trainer from 1903-1909)

.
Gary, it was the least I could do. Several Net54 Old Cardboard members, including Rhys,
have helped me out over the years. I could never thank each one of those individuals enough.

Best of luck on your hunt for other Highlanders autographs.
