Default Is this ethical???

So...I am checking out ebay tonight and notice this

http://cgi.ebay.com/Bobby-Jones-Signed-Autographed-PSA-Signature-Graded-10_W0QQitemZ360142715047QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_Defa ultDomain_0?hash=item360142715047&_trksid=p3286.c0 .m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A10%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1 318

hey wait a minute...I remember seeing this on Green Jacket auctions as well?

http://www.greenjacketauctions.com/site/bid/bidplace.asp?itemid=5953

I don't see a "BUY IT NOW" feature on the Green Jacket site...

What happens if bidding is over 7K on the Green jacket site and then someone hits buy it now on ebay????

I personally have a big problem with a person listing something on multiple auction sites simultaneously....any other thoughts out there.

Dave,

Hello. I noticed the same thing yesterday and sent a question via eBay asking about it. Here is the response I got: "The item is for sale on ebay for the Buy it now, or it can also be bid on through my website, www.greenjacketauctions.com".

It just doesn't feel right to me.

Jason

Yes I have heard of maximizing profits...but I could forsee a couple of instances with listing an item in two sites, one with a fixed bit, and one without, that could create some interesting issues if two different people thought they had purchased the same item.

The BIN listing on ebay (if it's like 95% of all BIN listings) is for a far greater amount than the item would be expected to bring in an auction. IF someone buys it for the BIN (fat chance) before the auction (on the website) runs its course, then he pulls the item from the auction. Now you might say that the bidders are bidding on something that "may or may not" be for sale at the end of the day but I don't see a breach of ethics here.
