I am new to the board here. I am a collector of cards of the 1950's back to all pre-war cards. I have been on ebay a long time and my username there is mistercrackerjack. I am always looking to add new stuff to my collection, primarily EX and above. If anyone has any Brooklyn stuff let me know, thanks.

Sorry Shanon, I was busy cleaning the house myself. Welcome!.. Are you from Brooklyn, or just a fan?

Welcome aboard. What is your position on soaking cards to remove paper and erasing pencil markings?

Hey welcome aboard as well. You have a great picture as your icon. The Duke is my favorite player and that exact photo was the first thing I had personaly signed by Duke. Like my Net 54 handle says Duke "Snider4prez"

Shanon,

You've just joined the most knowledgeable group of pre-war vintage card collectors in the world. Generally, that's good, just don't ask our wives. Laugh out loud.

Peter

What aspect of T206's are you going after? If you say PSA 8's...I can't relate

I'm focusing on mainly mid-grade stuff. A couple of the rare backs but nothing to fancy. Can't really afford it.$$

I live in Southern Indiana but have a brother-in-law that lives in Vero Beach Florida. A few years back Duke had a sports bar there, and I was lucky enought to go there. I also went to dodgertown and watched some minor league games. I am a long time Big Red Machine fan having watched them growing up in the 70's. I did attend a reunion show in Cincinnati and managed to obtain a team signed ball from the 1975 team. I traded many Nolan Ryans for Rose, Morgan, and Perez's growing up. I even got back into card collecting after my trips to dodgertown and have been a Brooklyn fan since. However I quickly found out that it was impossible to keep up with all the new product so I sold off everything and decided older was better. I think I have a small but growing collection of EX-NM cards, and am glad to have found this forum for interaction and to learn. There are not many people in my area that collect vintage, I had a friend who had put a near complete set of T-205 together but he had some financial problems and sold it off. Even the card shop in town does nothing but new stuff. I don't go to many shows because it is all new stuff, so I will try to hit a Cincinnati or Chicago show occasionly. Well thanks and I am glad to be here.

I live in Michigan, and root for the Tigers. Had season tickets for a few years now and was met Clemens at the All-Star game in '05. I'm 16, a just got my first car so, cards are on the back burner a little bit lately. I've been watching this board for about two months and I'm very happy to join.

Mike,

I'm just curious, how did you become interested in collecting T-206's.

I picked up a Laporte and a Lake out of a junk box for $10 a piece at the 2001(?) National in Chicago. I've been adding to my collection slowly over the past four years after dropping all of my modern cards.

Mike,

Welcome. Be patient with t206. There are plenty of them out there and they're not going anywhere. It's a fun set and can be a lifetime challenge for any collector.

There is not one t206 collector in the world (and never will be) that can say he has everything.

Best of luck.

Robert
