Sure our town team would play one game a year of donkey ball for laughs and fund raiser to keep lights on for summer at the park. All player did everything while riding. Hoping on and off to pick up balls. And get more beer from colors at each base.

Here's a 1950 poster from the Catskill region in New York. From the accounts I've read, all players except the batter, catcher, and pitcher are mounted on donkeys. After the batter hits one fair, he has to get on a donkey and try to ride around the bases.

As Americana, they'll always have some value but not a whole lot. They are good conversation pieces though. When I had mine up in my office, I always got questions about it

We did Donkey Baseball and Donkey Basketball. I think the animal rights folks have mostly made it a thing of the past.

They experimented with Donkey Soccer but found it to be too cruel. I mean forcing all those people to watch a soccer game.
