Does anyone have any photos or know where I can see any of Mickey Cochrane from his days at Boston U?

I went to BU and didn't even know Cochrane went there. Yikes!

Dan, Nickerson Field, which is now part of West Campus, was the old Braves ballpark (I know, we've already had this discussion earlier). Did Cochrane play his college games on that field?

Default Mickey Cochrane Boston U question

Posted By: Dan Bretta

Cochrane played at Boston U for three years....he did not graduate as he signed a professional contract after his junior year. He was apparently a 5 sport star at BU. I'm asking because I have three photos that I believe are Cochrane in his BU uniform. The person who sold the photos to me said they were of Cochrane, but I have never been able to find any photos to corroborate them with.

The jersey here is exactly like the football jerseys worn by BU players while Cochrane was at BU. Even if I could find a roster with player numbers that would help as the guy in the photo is wearing #10.

edited spelling.

Default Mickey Cochrane Boston U question

Mickey played four years of football at BU and was supposedly a much better football player than a baseball player. They played an occasional football game at Braves field but never a baseball game there. Almost all games were played on the road. He only played baseball his Soph. and Junior year at BU and signed a baseball contract during his Senior year. He also participated in inter collegiate boxing during his Freshman and Sophomore years. Info taken from " Mickey Cochrane" by Charles Bevis. There was one picture in the book of Mickey in a football uniform but did not look like any of the pictures posted.

This is the only photo I can find of cochrane at BU and it's actually a painting...the face of Cochrane in the painting that he is holding looks similar to the baseball photos I posted above.

here is a photo of a BU football uniform from the same time period
