Are you now using a different technique, particularly on the faces? I'm not seeing (I don't think) all the little faces that make up the face on some of your previous work including this Ruth.

Hi Peter...

Still using the same technique, but I think what you are seeing is that a couple of recent pieces were made using commons that featured larger faces (portraits). The whites of the eyes on those commons were larger than what I typically use, and it was somewhat distracting when they were put in place. I eliminated those distractions by cutting them or covering them with other pieces.

Wow, Tim, that Pele is insane! How big is it? The individual letters cut out for the "Topps Certified Autograph" line are nuts.

Thank you! The Pele measures 20" x 28". Those letters in the "Topps Certified Autograph" line are just 1/4" tall. Parts like that always test my patience!

I am even more impressed by reproducing the slight streakiness that a Sharpie signature can create. Unbelievable.

Thanks, guys! Those packs were super fun to work and see altogether. My wife saw the Jackson and said, “You’re not done, right? Why did you make his face like that?”😂

Tim,

Watching your work improve of the years has been very fun to watch. I mean, you were really good before, but your latest works have been noticeably more detailed and the finished products are just spectacular man.

Great work. Looking forward to seeing what's next!

Andy, I really appreciate this kind of compliment. I find myself spending more and more time with the pieces and have fought off the urges to try to pump more pieces out within a calendar year.

The goal is to never stop learning about various sets/commons I can use, to never stop tinkering, to always get better. It feels great when that effort is noticed!

Thank you all again for taking the time to view my work and to all of you that have replied.

I would think it would be an honor for a player to have a piece of one of their cards utilized on the face of an all-time great that is depicted on one of these fantastic artworks.

A few modern commissions to close out 2022. Plenty of vintage on the way to start 2023!

Just incredible stuff, as always Tim. Thanks for continuing to give us other artists something to aspire to!

Man, the detail in that Bo background...the fence. Speechless.
