Default 100 years ago today - Braves Field opened - let's see your Boston Braves stuff!

The Boston Herald has a nice article today on the 100th anniversary of Braves Field opening in Boston.

Some of the buildings are still in existence - the ticket office is now the Boston University Police Station, and the field is now where BU's Nickerson Field stands.

Let's see some Braves items! I'll start with a few - 1914 stick pin and World Series press pin, along with a 1917 season ticket booklet.

Really cool items Scott!!

I don't have anything too special, but here's a T206 Boston Nats slight print variation.

Desiderata

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Strive to be happy.

Scott,

Was this thread inspired by Steve Buckley's article in the Herald the other day?

Default Braves Field Opening

I no longer own these snapshots but they were part of a large photograph collection from a New England estate I acquired about 15 years ago. They were all photos from 1910 to 1915 from Braves Field, Huntington Grounds and Fenway Park. These photos were marked on the back they were from the opening of Braves Field. I think the one picture is them hoisting the 1914 championship flag. I remember that the detail on the scoreboard confirmed the correct game.

That symbol existed for thousands of years prior to it's infamous association with Nazi Germany. Google it if you want to learn about the history.

Bear in mind that this piece is from 1915.
