Default Another eBay seller who I think has lost his mind

I am all for free enterprise and someone honestly and openly making as big a profit as the market will allow.

We all now about pop reports, rarity and collector demand regardless of the pop report etc. Just because a card has a POP of 1, doesn't necessarily make the card instantly more valuable, in my opinion, especially a handcut card.

This same card previously sold for $12k in the Golden Auction. Now, this eBay seller is asking $375,000.00 for the card.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/PSA-10-BABE...361d%7Ciid%3A1

I can think of a lot of other cards with better eye-appeal and collector demand than this card.

If all it takes to get free advertising on the main board here is to raise a price on eBay to an astronomical number, that's a small price to pay for all the new eyeballs on my items...

Wonder how "illebag" the person from Riverside, CT feels about having their $65,000 offer attached as part of the listing!

I might be rather irritated as a buyer if that was a legit offer that was posted...

The sad things is ... I honestly would not pay $50 for that card. Just too ugly. Blech.

Heck, I'd take the 1976 ATG over that card if offered to choose between one of them for free.

Funny that when the card sold for $58,000 it was from a seller in Horton, Kansas and now the current seller is also from Horton, Kansas.

Did the card "sell" and then wasn't paid for (or shilled) or did the buyer just consign the card back to this eBay seller and jack up the price?

Agree-I don't care what the grade is; in my opinion it's an ugly strip card.

It's ugly for sure, but NOBODY on this forum would turn that card down if offered at $50.

Sellers do this as a marketing ploy. They do it all the time in the Art section. A painter will ask $500,000 for their painting, but if you offer them something like $1,500, they'll accept the best offer. I have a feeling if you offer this seller $20,000 for that Ruth, he'll accept it.

It's also done to increase the visibility of the item, because when someone sorts by highest price, the Ruth card will be on the front page. Collectors sort by price to weed out the junk.

Can you believe the deal this person is giving fellow baseball card collectors, with a $125,000 discount? This card won't last long at $250,000, how does he make any profit at that meager price?

Default Psa?!

How in the bleep does a hand cut card warrant a Gem Mint 10? The whole thing is ludicrous.

Agreed. No way on earth that's a 10. That's a hand cut strip card. How ridiculous.

If money wasn't an issue and I had to choose between the two, I would pick the Babe Ruth card over this 1990 FLEER JOSE URIBE card and save $275,000. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1990-FLEER-....c100009.m1982
