Default Annoucement of a new Auction Company

Posted By: Jeff Lichtman

Matt, your points are valid ones and I think Leon/Scott provided good explanations. I appreciate their reserve policy as it is open and transparent -- unlike nearly every other auction house. And Barry's magnanimous comments evidence exactly why Barry is Barry -- and is the most honest auctioneer around.

Jeff--I think Barry is just trying to get on Leon's and Scott's good side so they expand the company to Luckey, Brockleman and Sloate. Hey, they could be the LBS Auction House----"Consign to us or we will POUND you" Well, at least I found it amusing.

Jay- after my last partnership, I am a sole proprietor until the day I pack it in.

Will this be a card auction or a label auction/ I collect actual cards, not 3rd party grading labels.

While most will be graded cards I will personally "free" any cards you win, if you want me too? A happy customer is a good customer. best regards

I thought you made enough new friends last week.

Yes it will be mostly graded, as most cards come that way now. But, you will still find some raw lots, groups, accululations, etc just like the good old days. Since you asked, I must say we have gotten quite a few good items consigned and are expecting more each day. I think collectors of all budgets will be very pleased with the initial offering and I expect it to grow from there.

Scott

Dan,

1. I've always enjoyed your posts;

2. I'd bet you and I share a lot of the same thoughts regarding grading companies and their negative impact on the hobby;

3. I totally related and saw nothing wrong with your "venting" last week in the aftermath of the auction in which you were outbid.

But your recent post makes me wonder if you're taking this cardboard stuff a little too seriously.

I just wanted to make sure everyone new Dan and I are old buddies. I enjoy pushing his buttons. And trust me he is not afraid to respond.

We are both just old and grumpy.
