Default carl furillo game bat?

just bought this at a antique store for 20 dollars. it appears to be a h34 on the knob. 34 7/8 inches which i guess is a 35". from what i could tell the knob design is what he used also. any input would be great. hoping it is a gamer and uncracked. any idea what its worth. thanks

That's definitely a beautiful looking game bat -- hopefully someone with access to Furillo's records can tell us if he ordered that model number with those specs. A great find at a great price!

Default Re: carl furillo
Hi-- here is the info ---

The H4 model designation was given to a bat manufactured to the specifications of Hall of Famer Chick Hafey on 4/25/1928. In reviewing Carl Furillo's records from 1941 through 1960, his first documented order of Model H4 bats was shipped on 3/15/1950. (35 inches / 34 ounces.) H4 would remain his model of choice, and account for 17 of 22 orders by Furillo from that date to 8/19/1953, totaling approximately 123 bats. All were 35 inches and 33 to 35 ounces, with the possible exception of a single order that measured 36 inches (5/19/1950.) During the remaining seven years of his career he only ordered Model H4 bats two other times --- once in 1955 and again on 8/8/1956.

Prior to 1950, Furillo frequently used models M117, K66, and C117L. Following his use of H4 bats in 1953, he primarily used model F98 ( a bat he requested to be manufactured with a S2 handle and H4 knob) until 1954, when he switched to Model U1, which accounted for 98 % of his orders for the remainder of his career.

Default Furillo bat

I have one of these model bats in my collection. I have seen them sell anywhere from $1400.00 up to around $3000.00.

So, is it an H4 or an H34 on the knob?
