It's been a while since we've had one of these threads. After the day he's had today monitoring the board, I think he deserves an ATTABOY (actually he deserves a lot more). When the board is running smoothly it's easy to underestimate the amount of work that the volunteer moderator has to put in. Also, every time that he makes a decision, he usually has both sides upset with him, which I'm sure is extremely difficult for a likeable fellow like Leon to take. Anyway, thanks for doing this job Leon (Bill and I don't want it back).

Leon & Brian;

Thanks for all of your efforts, easily one of my favorite places to waste time. Keep up the good work.

Thanks,
John McDaniel

P.S. Leon, now you have my last name, sorry for breaking the rules all these yrs. I just didn’t want anyone to know how Scotch-Irish I am. For fear of doing a deal with the cheapest people on earth.

Leon has not only been helpful from a Network 54 perspective, but he has also been instrumental in helping a "beginning" collector like myself with many questions (along with providing much needed advice)about 19th century items. He and Andy Baran have been selfless in helping many people with their "expertise".

As a closet card collector, I would also like to extend my thanks. Unfortunately, the fine job Leon has done seems to have encouraged me to buy more baseball cards than I did in the past, and somewhere deep in the heart of Toronto, I know Elliot is chuckling at me.

I'd like to thank both Leon and Brian. This board not only is the best place for information on prewar baseball cards and memorabilia, but it also has enhanced my collection.

I don't post a lot, but I do lurk a lot. I agree with the others giving kudos. I suspect that it is a much more time-intensive and demanding job to moderate this board than most think. To do it well is probably even more difficult. Thanks to both of you for doing it well.

While we're offering up the "Thank you's", I wanted to just say that I was very appreciative of being offered the position of "moderator" on this board. Knowing I have the opportunity to contribute to the community is thanks enough for me and is the least I can do to sort of "give back" to what this forum has given me. Nowhere else could I find the knowledge and meet such great individuals that share the same undying passion for this hobby as I do.

Thank you all for the kind words, they are greatly appreciated. I'd like to add that without everyone's participation, knowledge and contribution to this forum, it would not be what it is today. I think everyone deserves a pat on the back for contributing to the thriving and highly successful community we're all a part of.

Cheers everyone!

-Brian McQueen

For your tireless efforts on making this a fun site where we can all be kids again . I also want to thank you for the early positive experience when I bought the Rogers Peet Cobb from you on Ebay . A negative experience at that time may have permanently dampened my enthusiasm for this great hobby !

Thanks to both Leon and Brian!

I noticed the board gets better the further south our board owner gets.Elliot was a dictator who made me answer thousands of t206 questions,Bill was a little better despite trying to buy up all the T204 Reilly cards and since Leon and I dont collect the same things,i like him even more.Hopefully Leon is the owner for awhile or we will have to learn a new language next time the board changes hands

As a new member, this is the first oppurtunity for me to express my graditude to Brian and Leon. Thank you for the enjoyment I get daily and the priceless information. The tight knit family/community that you two have created and sustained is awesome. The quality of the board is first rate, as good or better than other multi-million dollar company run boards. You guys to it for free. Amazing. What else can we do beyond expressing graditude for these to asteemed individuals?

Damian

This board has been an amazing phenomenon for quite a while now thanks to the moderators - past and present- who have ridden herd over it. Leon and Brian are managing to keep this a place we all love to come and visit. It's not an easy job and it's much appreciated by those of us who don't have to perform it.

Leon and Brian:

Everything they said above and more. Thank you for opting for a card focused board. I am glad it worked, but that is what it took - lots of work. And you guys pulled it off.

And appreciation to the previous owners who kept it together during some serious growth and maintained order and enjoyment. What a thankless job!

Thank you all,
Gilbert Maines

Considering he is tighter on the reigns than previous moderators (not a criticism), I think we should call Leon 'The Hammer.'

Let me add my appreciation for this board and Leon's dedication to helping advance the love of this old cardboard. I was stuck in the 50's with my taste in cards until becoming addicted to this board, and getting some help from Leon with these older gems. He and I live fairly close and Leon is always willing to take a few minutes to look at cards and answer questions to those still learning. Thanks Leon.

But that also means that y'all now have another bidder for some of those neat old treasures.

Texas Ted

I'm only a sporadic participant, but the board is much "tighter" than ever before, yet still has a friendly feel. Brian must be a customer-relations expert in real life, and Leon is the perfect blend of good temperament and collector mixed with dealer.

The benefits for those seeking knowledge and friends in the hobby are immense.
