Default The one Vintage Collection You Would Most Like To See

Posted By: DD

We've been reading about the Jefferson Burdick collection on this board, the owner of the Just So Cy Young and other rarities, as well as the collections of esteemed board members such as Leon, Hal, Jay Miller, etc.

If you had a chance to see one vintage collection, which would you pick. I would love to see Henry Yee's collection. If his ebay auctions and About Me page photos are indicative of what he owns, it must be one of the best private collections in the world; at least for Gehrig, Ruth, and Mantle (and I don't even like the Yankees).

Probably Marshall Fogle since he seems to have a great cross section of cards and memorabilia.

I would also love to see Coopertown in its entirety, not just what they put out on display.

There are many, but with my Old Judge favoritism, I'd also have to go with Jay Miller.

I used to trade with a guy who is not as active in the community anymore but I know his collection was huge and contained many rare, scarce, and difficult cards from the 19th century to the mid-1950s and some interesting memorabilia. His name was Jim Montgomery and lived in Florida. I am pretty sure he got rid of most of it but some of the stuff he traded for and bought was impressive...

Current collection is the HOF. I got to see a few things in the "basement" but not even close to all of it.

That's one collection I think will someday end up in a huge estate sale, then find it's way to ebay, but since he will probably outlive me I doubt I'll ever see it.
