I picked up another T206 Tiger from this site. This brings my monster number up to 15 T206s, all Detroit players. I'm at the halfway point for completing a team site. Of course 4 Ty Cobbs is going to be expensive.

Hi Frank,

I just picked up Fielder Jones at the Philly Show (image attached) to bring my Monster Number up to 61.

If you could please update my MN to reflect this, I would appreciate it.

Best regards,

Eric

Default A Monster Number Wrinkle

Occasionally I receive inquiries from collectors who just can't stand the notoriety that comes with having a posted Monster Number. I do respect their "unwarranted" need for privacy though.

The goal of this thread was never to identify where all 2,834,216 cards reside, but going forward I will offer an "Anonymous" listing option. Only you will know who you are, as I will try to forget. Of course this option will require that your posting be done in private, via PM, with the doors closed.

If there is demand for this new service, it may be necessary to add a number, letter or punctuation to your listing. If possible, I will even offer an emoticon option such as "Anonymous ". Just let me know in private, if you are interested in this service. I'll be home tonight.

I have loved this site, and never really understood the Monster Number thread. I think I get it now that I am at 25. So, I am new to the list. Anonymity? Is there such a thing on the Internet? I keep telling my kids that there isn't.

Well, finally another piece of the Monster found its way to Boca. That makes an MN of 492.9. From here on out it is going to take as much luck as money. Only the Biggest Dawgs remain. Did I tell you about my new hobby? I drive behind Brinks trucks, hoping for the perfect combination of bump in the road and faulty truck door latch

dagnabit....got frustrated with Ebay customer service and then showed them who's boss:

'Please bump my to 38 with the purchase of (4) PSA-5 cards - Clymer, Mcquilan, Dorner, & Mitchell' - he said meekly.

Default Stuck at 516--

I've been at that number for about a year now, aiming at 518, and hoping this post will break the impasse.

Meanwhile, I've been continually upgrading my collection [aiming at F-VG+ ungraded], and I do enjoy that. I suspect that the chase is more fun than the accomplishment, and that I'm in it for a lifetime.

Frank - I picked up 2 more and finally completed the Southern Leaguers - MN is 505. I loved seeing the set of 520 "collector grade" T206's in LOTG sell for $27,500.

495.9.......55bv. George Brown (Browne) (Washington). And so it goes, the hunt continues. My monkey has grown impatient, though. He has developed a taste for other morsels (T207,T210,T212, etc.) so as not to starve during the interim.

Hi Frank,

Can you please bump me up to 518 when you have a chance? I can now divest myself of the T206 Ty Cobb Green Portrait Net54 reprint placeholder and remove the asterisk now that I have the real thing!

it is still a beautiful world.

Default Demmitt

Added this big one yesterday, thanks to a fellow board member. This makes my MN 484 (all SGC50 or better). Downhill now to 520 after adding this one.
