Default User says, Yes it's real!!

User says this is real. What do you think? (I voted not real but actually it could be a really bad scan).....so I would change my vote to "can't tell" from scan.....What a crappy scan!!

I am not sure on this one. The scan is awful. The thing that jumped out is the Cub...it looks too close to the gold border. Reprints of T205s are often cropped wrong like this and the gold border is extra wide. I think this might be a reprint that was trimmed but without better scans or seeing it in person, I just can't be sure.

I say it's not real, the white around the borders on front is too uniform across the top and down the sides. It would be amazing for a card to wear down like that, so I think it isn't wear, it was just a bad scan of a decent xerox reprint. I would like to hear from people that think it is real and are also willing to bid on it knowing there are no returns

Tough to tell from the scans provided, but I'd say not real. Check out the Cubs logo in both images.

Just look at the other items this person has sold. Not sure he would know a real one from a fake anyway.

Except it's spelled "grammar."

It's often hard to authenticate anything from a scan, and harder still from a very blurry one. It looks funky but it could in fact just be the scan. I'm undecided.

I'm typing on my iPad so it keeps on autocorrecting, because it thinks I want to write the name Grammar.

I can't tell from the scan and I have a feeling that's by design. Just look at how clear the scans are on the new shiney cards he has sold recently.

Fake as hell. The borders never wear like that and the bs k is void of staining from tobacco pieces since its a pb back.

I stand by rule 1 of ebay buying. If the seller has equal or greater than five errors in their item description I stay avoid bidding.

If the seller knows how to create a good clear scan for some cards and then drops a HOF T205 scan all blurry like this then he is obviously trying to hide something.

Agreed...I would also say not real. The entire left side of the image is truncated/cropped. Check out the beginning of the "M" in Mordecai.

When someone says it was given to me in 1983 that makes me think it is fake. Too much detail. I'm surprised it wasn't also his grandpa's.

The distance from his left ear to the gold border is quite narrower. Same can be said with the space between the cub figure in the left upper corner and the border.

The beginning of the "M" in Mordecai is also cut of by the left border.

Along with other reasons pointed out by other members, it was easy voting "not real".

Grading does coast alot.
Reprint, but I feel he or she may not be aware and is not trying to deliver the shaft to someone.

Someone should let them know...feel as though I would not be the right person, though.

The image inside of the gold border is larger and is cropped tighter to make it fit. Witness his right shoulder. Look at how much of the image is not there compared to the slabbed example. The spur of "background" red that extends into the white of his uniform is completely gone. The Cubs logo is touching the gold, if not cut off. It is not only fake, it is a bad fake.

Definitely not real. I had stumbled upon this one, and immediately passed over it. Two things stood out: the facial features (there is a different tint on the reprints that stands out to me), and the Cubs logo.

If one is going to critique the spelling of others, it's best not to have misspellings contained in that critique.

This has already been discussed on pages 1 and 2. It's best to do research before criticizing a critique.
