In support of SPEC's correct assertion that Sam Wise is depicted on insidethewrapper's cabinet. Face from cabinet below left, Wise in a Boston uniform below right.

This one just arrived recently. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm guessing it's a baseball team (riding in the coach) sponsored by the organization that resides in the background building (you can see 'SBAC' on the coach and also below the awning in the background). For $20, it was nice enough.

Bean Eaters of SBAC

Default South Broadway Athletic Club - St. Louis, Missouri

Hi Scott,

I almost pulled the trigger on that one. It's a neat photo... Congrats. I had done some research on it. Here is a little blurb I found on what I think it is?

Hope this helps.

"The South Broadway Athletic Club has come a long way since it was founded on December 5th, 1899. Originally geared towards Boxing, Wrestling, and other sporting events, the club now hosts a wide variety of social gatherings. From dances to holiday parties, the SBAC is able to accommodate a wide range of events."

Thanks. Yeah, it could be anything - with everyone wearing mums, it might have been a dance. The fact that it's a thick soft-look albumen makes me think it might even be the opening of the club - age on this would be right around 1900, just based on the mount. The photo itself looks older, but I guess that's impossible .
