Default Staging for general admission entry to the National

The holding pen is upstairs in Hall G. Get your ticket scanned and get a wristband

There is no line in the staging area. The one staff member told those of us forming a line that there was no line and pointed to the ten foot wide or so area that leads the elevator that will take us inside

Miserably hot here. There were about two dozen people when I got in line about 215. Now at 245 still less than 100 people that are generally trying to form a line

They are setting up more stalls in this Hall. Not sure what it will look like in the morning

The attendees kept trying to form lines. Security kept telling them not to

Then when it was time to go in security wanted everyone to get in two lines to go down the escalators

The escalators dropped us off on the very back of the new section they opened this year. Took several minutes to find my way around to the main original hall with all the long time dealers set

Thursday morning update. Security putting everyone in a snaking line

Right before they open it up the guy at the front yells no lines just move up

What a cluster.

Hope everybody who is spending their time and money to be in that oven comes away with all kinds of great pickups. No amount of cards or memorabilia could drag me there.

There is no excuse for the anarchy and mayhem that was the show entrance. If you weren’t a dealer, you were told conflicting things by every different employee there. No signage or clear lines for attendees.

The abstract “lines” snaked around aimlessly for over a football field’s worth of distance, while others strolled right in while “guards” were looking at their phones. Or chatting. Clusterfuck doesn’t begin to describe it.

I experienced the 'upstairs general admission cluster' on Wednesday and Thursday. We got there over an hour early on Wednesday expecting a 'corral' setup like 2 years ago when it was downstairs and we where herded in single/double file like at an amusement park. That would have made the most sense, but they had 3-4 rookie 'security' jackoffs that were completely clueless. The 'corral setup' would have solved the whole problem. Oh, and it was hot up there....very little a/c. Overall, still glad I went.

The only upside to Wed. cluster was that no one took my GA ticket. Wristbanded without showing anything but my arm. Hope to use the ticket on Sunday if I can ever get out of work

I felt the general admission process worked smoothly on Friday. That is the first day I attended.
