Looking at the particular font used for "The Sporting News" and the other font types, I would bet it from one of the hundreds of Sporting News publications made late 50's to mid 60's.

Likely from size, I would toss a guess from the "For The Book" yearly series.

Clippings are essentially worthless, but people try to sell them on eBay to newbies looking for any type of example of a player. The magazines in full are very inexpensive.

I agree...book, magazine, or guide. The "11" on the upper right of one of the pages points to this, as well as the fact that there are pages with partial paragraphs or incomplete playing records (both of which would be continued on the next page).
