U of W Football
I just got this back from the U of W Husky Hall of Fame, where it has been displayed since 2002. They made a quality full sized copy for the display and gave me back the original. It is around 2 1/2 x 3 feet on thick board.

Mike, that set up is going to look pretty nice once it's all done.

And I though the Boyd sign was nice and now the U of W Olympic Gasoline; very nice!

Agree... that UW Sign is off the charts. Love the leather helmets and Bumble Bee Sleeves. And what a cool football scene!
Dave- Do you know the exact year? Simply gorgeous! |

The sign is from 1926. Glad you like it! Here's another cool early U of W football item, a pillowcase with the original price tag from The Bon Marche (now Macy's for you non-Seattleites) still attached. Not really an "advertising sign", sorry kids |

Schmidt's Beer ephemera. They must have done all the teams.

Also, I'd justify this being an advertising piece; it's plugging the school. |

Calendars
Rob,
"Really" like the calendars you posted. Looks like you have quite a few. Also, I think earlier in the thread you posted others. Wish the O's would have done more (maybe they did and I don't know about them). Makes for nice displays in my opinion especially when it lists the year. |

Will get back when room is done
Thanx Mark and Mike (yankee) for the kind words.
The hard thing is to get as much of one's stuff out there without it just being too cluttered. I stink at that. My wife has been offering her assistance.

I was given this...always nice!
This shows the graphics work done to produce a couple of Giants themed Budweiser ads. In both cases, there are graphics on board, overlaid with refinements on "mylar" and more refinements on a vellum sheet.

Rob, your Giants pieces are always a treat to look at.
Mark same with your O's pieces (and that's hard for this Yankees fan to admit ) I wish I could find pieces like that for the Yankees. Yankees pieces go for a lot of money here. I have patience and will continue the hunt. What's everyone thoughts on vintage magazine pages with ads? I have seen collectors carefully remove the pages and frame them up and have been thinking about rummaging through flea markets on the hunt for such ads. Mike

Something about that Hat in the Sweet Caporal Poster looks very X-rated to me. Early form of subliminal advertising?
Regardless, she looks very pleased to be wearing it. Last edited by perezfan; 09-29-2017 at 11:31 AM. |
