Default Ugliest Vintage Cards

...everyone knows the e95 Wagner is one of the worst designs of all time...

Mr. Subliminal "...trade to Scott...trade to Scott..."

...while low-grade t206 portraits don't get anywhere near the respect they deserve...

Mr. Subliminal "...trade for low-grade t206's..."

I apologize for the psychological abuse above, but I'm pretty much off for the holidays and my brain is free, and no one's been posting all day! Have a great holiday everyone and thanks for all the great discussions this year!

I think Scott can vouch for my t206 Mathewson being the ugliest vintage card.....and for some reason,i dont know why Scott, but i want to trade all of my t206 cards to you for an e95 wagner....did i ever mention i have trouble paying attention?.... i think most people would say any strip card set would be the worst looking, and i would say the e91 set would be the worst set overall, why wold they use fake drawings and then use the same bad drawings for more than one player

That was almost working, I have been cleaning the oven and the fumes have got me alittle goofy.

As far as ugly cards, my pick for the ugliest card in the T206 set is the Rudy Hulswitt card, it looks like a comic picture close to the quality of those strip cards.

Happy Holidays

Lee

I would have to say the ugliest card is the t206 Tris Speaker. It was a Hall Of Fame Player I wanted for years but I had trouble finally forking over the money for what was such an ugly card.

he looks kind of like Evers though. Also, I think the Freeman card looks like Babe Ruth.

The ugliest vintage cards to me are the Buchner Gold Coin cards that have about four poses and they use the sames ones for all the different players. They bear NO resemblance to the actual players themselves at all!!

It's actually my co-favorite Wagner along with the Cracker Jacks - Mike Williams scan on the other site is a continual tease that drives me green with envy!!

The t206 Malarkey is my nomination. I have one that I can't get rid of because it fits into my "print variation" collection.

Actually, that card's too nice for my collection - I prefer that my cards be a little more worldly (I'm rationalizing of course). I will make a fake card from your scan and use it as a place-holder!

...then when I talk you out of your, I'll send the "old reprint" into PRO for grading and then sell it.

All we need now is Wagner spitting at a fan and dogging it to first base and he is ready for the modern game.

Worst looking cards ever: tie between Milk Duds (Turd brown print on pee yellow paper) and 1968 ARCO (monochromatic borders that tore when the game piece was opened, mug shots, no logos). Honorable mention: Any strip card not based on a photo (Bazooka Joe has better artwork). Special technical photography merit award: 1927 Exhibit Charlie (who was that blurred man) Gehringer. Best graphic design: 1981 Donruss (a high school graphics student got a "C" for this one). Best art direction: 1971 Joe Morgan (he's in there somewhere, trust me). Most authentic: 1956 Hank Aaron (a gorgeous card but when was Mays traded to Milwaukee?)
