On another site, in a post about nostalgic things that once were and are no more, a poster made mention of "negro league baseball games". Is anyone familiar with these?

Were they speaking of something like a board game? Or perhaps they were just thinking of actual Negro League games?

It isn't clear, Dan and may well be a reference to actual games. Just wondered if anyone could confirm the existence of a board game. Does't seem like it would have been a money maker, though.

I personally have never seen or heard of one. I'm almost certain if there had been one that we'd have seen it in a Mastro/REA type auction at least once in the past 10 years.

It's not in Mark Cooper's book either, and I have never heard Mark speak about any Negro League Baseball Game.

Even without the context of the reference, we can conclude the poster was not talking about board games. The key is the use of a plural (ie games).

As a baseball board game collector, I can assure you that the discovery of a SINGLE board game would get me (and a few others I know) on an airplane to see it.

We have collected ultra rare Negro baseball memorabilia for more than
30 years. We have never seen nor heard of a baseball game with
images of Negro players.

We own the earliest known cigar box with a cartoon image of black
players. It dates to 1887. We also own a cigar box with an image
of the Louisville Negro team which dates to the first decade of
the 20th century.

Should one want any more detailed information, we would suggest
contact Larry Lester at the Negro League Museum in Kansas City.

Do you have an e mail for someone at the Negro League Museum who could help me identify a piece I own. It is a team photo of either the 1921 or 1922 Cleveland Tate All Stars, or the Toledo team and I would like to see if any additional players can be ID.
