I was happy to score this rare style Jacket. Saw it on display at the National, and was "wowed"....

I missed out on Lot 794 - 1920s-1940s Philadelphia Phillies Game Used Bats (5) w/Cravath and Cy Williams. I would be interested in purchasing the Gavvy Cravath bat if the buyer would consider.

I was high on that one for a while, but figured someone big would step in.

Wasn't a player, but I was surprised to see the Ramly pack go for $7500 with the juice! That's the highest price I've seen an open pack sell for.

When I posted that one in the Post War section in the early evening, it was at $6,000. I couldn't believe it sold for that much when I seen it this morning.

It is definitely a nice piece but I never imagined it jumping that much in that short period of time.

I was underbidder on the signed Wahoo Sam Crawford T206. Somebody got that for a great price.

I did get the group of (mostly silent movie) lobby cards.

I won the Lot of 18 player and executive signed letters, which included Mantle and Hornsby. REA auctioned off a similar 1953 Mantle fan response letter in 2005 that sold for $2,610 but was in better condition. These letters were clearly in a scrapbook, but the lot also included some other interesting items including an Ira Thomas with outstanding content and Jimmy Slagle note (very tough to find auto of the 1907/1908 Cubs' centerfielder and T206 subject).

Has anyone seen many other Mantle's like this?

Someone really wanted to smoke those cigs!!! I saw that lot. Way past me....

I picked up the The Trader Speaks lot with other stuff to fill in some holes in my hobby pubs collection....and a few miscellaneous things (lobby cards etc.) too. It was a great auction.

Default Ramly

I was the bridesmaid on the Ramly pack and seriously could not believe what it went for. I would have smoked one of the cigarettes, though, so its' probably best I didn't win it.

Great piece, though, and congrats to the new owner.

I was AN underbidder...went for way more than I was willing to pay, but IMO the coolest item to come to any auction in years.

Now comes the question will the winner destroy it by breaking it up and selling individually?

Exactly what I was thinking. Part of me says it should ALWAYS stay together as a group, while my collector`s side thinks if broken up the "small fries" like myself have a chance to own at least a small part of history.

Great pickup Ben! Contact me if interested in other Clemente items - I have quite a bit!

Back to the Auction I fought desperately to try to add the 1959 Venezuelan Mantle to my Venezuelan collection - alas someone pushed me to my edge and was willing to go just past it - congrats to the new owner - I hate being an underbidder!! Crazy strong prices for some of the off grade Mantle rarities!!

I'd buy a copy of that book. I hope it doesn't get taken apart.

I bought the below lot of stuff at the last H & S auction. I want the Ruth publication, the baseball rules, and prob the Gehrig card, but don't feel strongly about the rest of it. If there is anything here you want and want to make me a reasonable offer please do. Great interesting lot.

I think what was neat about that item was, the hope there's still amazing treasures to be found in this hobby!

I was pretty shocked to see how much it went for as well. I was out probably within the first 3-4 days of it going live, lol.
