Jeez Louise, what a great month so far!

Chris, glad to help kick-start your hobby return. Long time coming.

(Jeff saying you have a beautiful Cobb, is like Ruth telling another batter he has a great swing).

Mark- fantastic addition.

It would be fun to pick those up at a local show. Great looking cards, congrats.

great N167 Connor Mark and love the Mothers Bread Ryan. Loved the T206' pickups too with Lenox and BL460. Nice stuff by all.

Default September Pick Up Thread

Two pickups from the Philly Show. Cool story leading up to the purchase of the Williams... Came home from 2018 National with a Topps Chrome box for my sons to open, and a silver pack for each of them. My younger son pulled a Shohei Ohtani autographed card (numbered to 5) out of his silver pack. Decided to sell the card (something that we very rarely do) to take advantage of peak Ohtani mania, and use the money on another card that would be more meaningful to him long term. After considering a bunch of different cards, he decided that he wanted a Ted Williams rookie. After a year of looking, found this one today and bought it for the exact same amount we netted from the Ohtani.

Thanks for the compliments Leon, DJ and Dave.

Leon, not really a “local show”, as I had to drive 2.5 hours. But it’s worth it - the philly show always has lots of vintage, tons of table and great dealers. We east coast peeps are lucky to have so many large and solid shows.

DJ, we need to coordinate next show- we gotta finally meet in person.

Andrew, great seeing you today. I love that your son got the Williams - I remember you telling me at chantilly a few shows ago how he wanted that card. Very nice example. Now we need to make good on that football Sunday get together.

Edited- nice haul John.

Default Crawford

This is a tough back variation but well within my budget. Sweet Cap 350/25. Decent eye appeal for a rougher card, and one of only 5 graded and designated by PSA of the Crawford Batting 350/25.

Dave, you are so right -- those factory 25's can be a real pain. This is true in both series 350 and 150. I have a complete Tinker bat off run, and the SC 350, 25 was easily one of the most difficult of all to find. Congrats on getting a tough combo.

A little rough, but down to 1 (or possibly 2) left in the Davis backrun. Any one have a spare E92 Cocoa?

This WaJo with the "common," purple Henry A. Johnson back stamp arrived from the very recent LOTG auction - thanks again, Al. I'm stoked to add it to my WaJo collection to complement my WaJo with the rare, green (or turquoise) HAJ back stamp that I acquired about 20-25 years ago.

Default Upgrade Type 5 Jo Jo White

..R-314 Goudey 'Wide Pens' premiums ; this is from the 1937 Canadian sub-set of about a dozen or so Detroit Tigers added into the Toronto and Montreal team sets. "Type 5" if you follow the R314's...... the upgrade is the one without any pinholes......been waiting a while to find this one ; does not show up very often.
