Default T206 350 series, player clear out

Posted By: Lee Behrens

It just dawned on me that I don't think I have ever seen a horizontal with an American Beauty Back. Obviously the Pelty and Pattee can not have them but what about the other 4?

I just got done looking through Bill Brown's superset and it seems as though it is not an option. At what point did this early run of 350 stop and the other backs start up and the players cleaned up?

Are the Hindu's for these cards 150's or 350's or is there no way to tell?

Lee

It is possible to find T206's with the Brown HINDU back as follows......

152 of the 156 cards issued in the initial 150 Series production run (minus Lundgren, Magie, Plank, Wagner)

37 cards in the Southern Leaguers

Therefore, this tells us that the Brown HINDU press run preceded the 350 series production.

Hi Lee,

The American Beauty back brand first appears with the 350-only series. Thus, no subject in the 150-only series or he 150/350 series will ever be found with an American Beauty back.

Now, the horizontal poses I can think of off the top of my head are all 150-only or 150/350 subjects:

Birmingham (150/350)
Mullin (Throwing) (150/350)
Murphy (Throwing) (150/350)
Pattee (Horizontal) (150-only)
Pelty (Horizontal) (150-only)
(I'm probably missing one or two ....)

None of these is possible with American Beauty.

Dunn (Baltimore) is a 350-only subject and thus can theoretically be found with American Beauty 350 with frame; however, I think most people believe that he does not count as a horizontal pose.
