Default Wow! A++++

When watching I was thinking later than 1927 as it seems Babe was having some issues in the clip with his back and overall flexibility. I realize it was postseason but fascinating nonetheless!

Thanks!

Mike

Default Babe

Interesting.... at the end you can see the Babe used a pinch runner after he reached first to help preserve his back! Man that Gehrig swing was smooooooth!

Lou's swing looks like he is trying to knock a brick wall down. Babe's is surprising short and very fluid looking. Like a nice easy golf swing.

Yes, Babe's back clearly barking a bit. And he is certainly a little soft looking around the middle. Could be related.

The most surprising part of this film just now being discovered, is that the owner didn't realize who it was! It's so obvious.

John Esaki, the Director of the Media Arts Center at the Japanese American National Museum, was pleasantly surprised to hear of this new discovery.
“I have viewed this movie segment dozens of times during my 19 years on the Media Arts staff here at JANM,” Esaki said, “but I never realized that the footage includes Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig."
