Default R319 Goudey Ruth Batting Pose

One of my favorite cards in the hobby, a real classic, back in the collection. Not a bad downgrade!! The right border, near the top, is up against the plastic case but it is very close to 50/50 all of the way around it. Anyone else want to show any cards they got rid of and then "had" to reacquire? The bottom card is happily in someone else's collection or inventory now....(and thanks to whomever bought it...Don't know if we could have paid off the college tuition without it. )

Leon,
FANTASTIC downgrade! Although the bottom card has a better technical grade I would say that your new one has amazing eye appeal! Great color, centering and focus. I think that almost everyone would be proud to show that card off. I know I would!

Sweet Ruth, Leon. In several ways, you have re-acquired a better card. Your new Babe is fresher appearing, not as toned. The picture registration is about as good as it gets, which is very important for this particular Ruth. The colors are so beautiful, and, as I said, appear so well-preserved.

As the old saying goes, "Ya done good, Maynard."

I'd mail that in for review - I mostly only look at low to mid grade gum cards from the 30s, and this one is nicer than some of my 4s - great pickup Leon!!

Beautiful "downgrade" Leon - your current card has greater eye appeal to this guy.

Thanks Bob et al.....I think if I ever crack it I will have to erase that check mark on back. Otherwise, onward with a very, very eclectic (for me) new collection....a new 1909 postmarked rppc
