Default Yet another SGC blunder - Goodwin Lot #17

This Keeler used to be mine, it is a 1903 cabinet which is part of a larger gigantic team cabinet of the 1903 New York Americans.

SGC mislabelled this 1910 and the Goodwin team doesn't know any better either obviously.

Not shocking but a shame.

At least Steve Verkman of Clean Sweep Auctions has his written up correctly.

Good Job Steve!

SGC, if you don't know, ask someone that does!

Here is the full piece: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ne...Team,_1903.jpg

Not perfect but, imo, SGC got it right as they said "C.1910".

circa [ˈsɜːkə]
prep
(used with a date) at the approximate time of circa.

Comical, I guess I have to yield to that then.

The experts covered themselves

It took me 2 seconds to google and find out it was 1903.

At least SGC put a lot of effort into the research

It wouldn't work out, I am too bias towards people who have screwed me over.

Plus Leon just took the wind out of my sails, I missed the C. 1910.

Thanks Leon

I think all 1956 Topps cards should have C. 1950 on them.

There's no questioning the 1903 date of the cabinets. Jack O'Connor only played for the Yankees in 1903. The Keeler is from the same supplement.

Will SGC put Carl Horner on the flips? I notice the Keeler doesn't carry his name.

The jersey itself tells us it was 1903-1904.

Dan,

How many of the composites do you think were made? I have the Howell and have posted it multiple times, and it is spectacular! A shame someone would cut it up though

Ack! Looking through the catalog and they are killing me with lot 74. This is NOT a 'red overprint' or 'double stamp'. Yes, it's a sweet card, but it's the Pink pass that is skewed. There were not two red passes. It is obvious that the skewed pass is pink and not red. Honestly, when will the TPGs and auction houses wake up and acknowledge that pink was a separate color in the T206 printing process?!?!?!?

Default Awesome!

That's sweet, Chris. Definitely missing the pink pass on that Maddox. Is it yours?

Default Keiler?

Cool card I was thinking about bidding on. Did anyone notice the spelling of Keeler on the collage? It is Keiler with a dot on the end. The alleged 1910 Cabinet is spelled Keeler with no dot. I don't know if this means anything or is the auction piece a corrected version of the collage? That would be pretty cool unto itself. Anyway I don't post much but I thought this was interesting. Thanks Bruce K
