Lets get back to talking about cards.....and the easiest thing is to take a look-see at some uncatalogued ones....Here is a more recent one in the stable....

I was going to post my Frank Chance which is blank-backed and looks just like an E95 but has Chance New York on it but the image is no longer on Pete C's caramel card web site I'll try to dig it out and post it.

For the longest time I dont think they would even grade it, in fact I think Barry sold it raw back in the day?

Then someone finally got it put in the holder...the is a light pencil mark on the back....

These can be found with and without a basepath design on the outside I have seen a few others with the basepath but no HOF's etc.

No but I do have other cards where they were keeping the man down! LOL

First image.

This one is blank-backed. I catalogued it as an E-Unc based on the fact that it is found with the candy ad on the back, like the Cobb.

Shows what should be the actual dimensions of the card, designated by the red line.

John, that is correct. My consignor brought the card to SGC in person and they refused to grade it. I auctioned it raw and the winner submitted it to SGC and they gave him a 40.

I'm sure if I asked SGC they would say they didn't know at first what it was, but it still steamed me. I know I left money on the table having to sell it ungraded.

another E-unc Jeffries (much more common than Adam's example) .......

c1910, there's a corresponding Johnson card, probably issued for "big" fight.

With as crude as the issue is, yours could very well be Wagner too. Are you certain our card are the same issue?

I don't really know for sure if it's the same series but if it isn't it's from a fairly close one..I think we put these together before and sort of analyzed them....but don't remember the conclusion.....I am sure someone will have the definitive answer.....
