Default Is It Just Me?

Posted By: Kevin Cummings

Happy New Year everyone!

Continuing in the "Who Is This?" vein, I was looking at the 3rd December Recent Pick Up thread this moring and saw Sgt. Hoss' cards.

Is it just me or does this not look like Hack Wilson?

Hack had tiny feet; this image appears to correspond

Yeah, I guess the feet look petite enough, but facially it looks off to me for some reason.

I gotta say that ain't Hack Wilson. The guy on the card looks too thin, too.

Take a look at the stirrups/socks on the card and the images that are posted. Looks more like he wore a constant dark sock all the way up, unlike the supposed mistake from that card.

Well, ...... we might not have solved the question but, at least we now know who might be members of the Baseball Spikes Fetish Club. ....

Happy Cleat Year!

It looks like Hack to me but, they claim it's Art Wilson. Does anybody have a Art Wilson card to compare?

For many years, checklists noted that the "Hack" Wilson in the York set and related ice cream sets is not actually Hack. I guess the STandard Catalog must have dropped this practice.

It took a while to find it and it's not the greatest, but here is Mr. Arthur Wilson. I think we've found our man.

Good eye Tim. We may get to the bottom of this yet. It does look like Hartnett. We need a better picture though.
