Can anyone help me find this Enterprise BBC player identity?
Barry Sloate already told me he had no luck finding who this guy was, but as he said... Maybe I'll get lucky.

are you confident it is a baseball player? (As opposed to an actor, a cricket player, a fencer, etc.)

Would you mind elaborating on how you know it's a baseball player? It might point some people in the right direction for answering your question. Are you familiar with the Enterprises?

According to Preston Orem's book "Baseball 1845-1881",
the Enterprise BBC played the 1865 "season" going 0-8.
This club played like other pioneer clubs at Hoboken's Elysian Fields.
The club did play until the early 1870's.

3 and maybe more players went on to play "Pro" baseball with other clubs when the Associations were created.

According to Fred Ivor-Campbell, from SABR Publications, the Enterprise Club of Brooklyn played at least through 1870, and included among its players at one time or another Ed Pinkham, Bob Ferguson and George Hall, who later went on to professional careers. (Records of these players can be found on baseball-reference.com)

If someone has Marshall D.Wright's book The National Association of Base Ball Players, 1857-1870, published by McFarland in 2000, rosters and listing of games can be found, and it could give me and others interested in baseball history some leads to find the "mistery" player.

I'm taking the liberty of posting Kevin Struss email.

Hi Jaime,

A friend of mine sent me a scan of a cdv that you were trying to identify along with your email. Unfortunately, I do not know who the player is.
There were many Enterprise teams in the 1860's - 70's with at least three of them hailing from Pennsylvania: Philadelphia, Allegheny and Renovo.
I assume that since the stamp on the back indicates that the photographer was from Pennsylvania, then THIS Enterprise team was from the same state.

The only significant Enterprise team came from Brooklyn in the early 1860's
and played many of the top teams of the time. This is obviously NOT the
team of your cdv.

Truth be told, most cdv's, tin types and the like from that era picture
players that are not identifiable.

That's a great picture. I do not recognize the player, but I suggest you ask Mark Rucker <trnsgrph@....>, who
knows more about baseball pictures than anyone else in the world. Also, you might like to ask Tom Shieber
<shieber@.....org>, probably the world's second most knowledgeable person about baseball pictures.
And since he works at the Hall of Fame, he has ready access to their files.

If either of these e-addresses doesn't work, check the
current SABR Membership Directory. At the moment, I only have access to an older edition.

Let me know if either Mark or Tom can identify the player.
