With all of the political discussions today...I thought it'd be nice to see some cards. Let's see pre-war cards of non caucasians on this historic day!!!

Steve, on your NI card third from left in the top row is Chief Johnson.

Here he is with the Lincoln Western League club of 1908

I will admit to being ignorant enough to not know what "non-Caucasian" means. I'm sure posting this will offend some, but Dolf got to play when many of his peers could not. As a "light skinned" Cuban he made the bigs, while team mates had to go to the Negro Leagues.

Fred,

I would wait for rigor mortis to pass.

Wouldn't want to tear the card.

Anthony,

You are truly a collectors "collector". I wouldn't have thought about rigor mortis and the potential damage to the card. Good catch!

By the way, yesterday, I showed the cover and one page of a "Colored Baseball & Sports Monthly" magazine. I got a couple of emails asking about it.

I have the whole magazine (20 pages + 4 covers) scanned.

If any Negro League collectors want to see it, shoot me an email and I'll send you a copy. Because of the size of the file, I have to split it in two, but it's a pretty neat read.

Jim, I think maybe Net54 is having issues because I had to change the type of URL I usually post here from my photobucket site because the old way doesn't show up anymore.

dan...I agree...I've had to access my photobucket outside of net54 for a little while now...then paste it in my thread...it's kind of a nuisance!

Although the amount of data is limited I still use the internal temp files of Net54 to post images.....I say limited as everyone's but mine is.....It does work pretty good as long as your scans are under 128k and they don't have a funky file name.....

And in keeping with the thread I think this umpire is Oriental......It's a D39-8 Gordon's Bread card for those keeping score....

Peter, I apologize for my interruption of your thread. One day, I may just realize I'm whipping a dead horse sometimes.

Brian, A final email reply on the way -and if you must, reply with a final closing comment. You're a lot funner here in this venue than once inside my venomous Inbox anyway, you're scary man. I really miss that "Serenity Now" thing you do here with those smileys giggle.

And yes, if you must know, I'm for gay marriage and equal rights -I hope your God (The one that a group of men long ago had written about in a book), doesn't start chucking thunderbolts my way for my blasphemous thinking! Well, thanks for asking my opinion.

Let the records show, This armpit democrat from Massachusetts concedes to the delegate with the astronomically higher graded slabs (Thanks for providing the link).

Here's something we both can agree on. Time to step away from this world for a bit. Wouldn't ya say? Steve F (:

Ted Kennedy caracature removed -out of context without BcD's email reference.
