I don't have it in my hands yet (should be here any day now)...

but since the other pickup thread is over 50 posts -
I figured it would be a good time to start a new pickup thread.

thanks toby -

Won this little case in an auction yesterday for $5.00. My T206 HOFers fit nicely.

I would think it is one sold within the last 2 years, so that will make the known population the same and the demand even stronger.

Large silver print image of the 1920 "Akron Professionals". This team was the first professional football league champions (of the APFA which became the NFL). At lower right is Fritz Pollard, the Jackie Robinson of football, who was finally inducted into the Football Hall of Fame in 2005.

Brett,

Like many caramel and tobacco cards, these cards were not always cut perfectly and have size variations. None of these cards are trimmed and all have thinner borders than the jennings posted above.

Brett,
I agree with Josh. Having personally owned more than 100 different E93s over the past twelve years, I can state with confidence that one will find quite a bit of size variation in this issue on cards that were not trimmed or tampered with.

Quan:

That Cobb looks great.

Mike:

I find T202's to be dangerous to my collection's focus. The action shots in the center are amazing. Congrats on the pickups, and good luck with the rest.

Just back from PSA - only the 2nd 1931 w502 ever graded - wow. Steve.
By the way, these w502's sure don't look "Hand Cut."

that's an interesting Wood pennant. Didn't someone recently post one with the picture of Heine Zimmerman? And BTW that Max Stein of Weaver is deluxe. Did you know that SGC has only graded one example?

Steve-
I didn't see the Zimmerman pennant, but I have seen different players with the same color pennant and the same pattern.
I had no idea that SGC has only graded one Max Stein Weaver postcard. Unfortunately, they will never grade mine, cause it will never leave my hands

both financially and in terms of staying on topic...but I am VERY excited to have netted this one! and a Doby of same grade is pending...and no, neither one fits into my 2007 goals...

Thanks, Cy!

who do you suppose is the guy in the yellow shirt?

Jason L,... great card, the guy in the background is either Zelig or Beavis, not sure which..

Here's a Hughie Jennings T213-2 that I got on ebay earlier.. I'd say there are not more than 40 examples of this card in any grade extant. regards...

This time, a beater set.
Looking for the well loved ones, I begin here (thanks Brian)...

Finally I have something "new"!! I just bought these at a local auction for $121. I missed out on (too chicken to bid more) 4 T207's including a Vean Gregg with Broadleaf back (sold for $17.50 each) and a T213 Cotton Type 1 of Bernhard (sold for $30). There was also a rough Delong of Urbanski ($7.50).

There were two cards which looked like Oxford Confectionary cards (Sisler and Frisch) but they were blank backed and were cardboard. I couldn't tell if they were glued onto cardboard or just made of cardboard. The Sisler sold for $20 and the Frisch $12.50.

David
