Default Got me to chuckle

You gotta love the Q&A on this listing

http://cgi.ebay.com/1909-T206-Tobacc...item4156dfd59a

Pasted below for your reading pleasure:

Q: You have some great items that would do great n our upcoming spring auction if interested shoot me an email thanks Feb-15-11

A: I have no idea what auction house you are but I am not interested as I get full exposure on ebay, my buyers don't get raped on ridiculous hammer fees and insane shipping costs and I don't wait 16 years to get my consignment money. Other than that, I am sure your auction would be an excellent option for me.

It appears his "buyers" get raped on the front side with those BIN prices!! Maybe that is what attracted the auction house!?!?

LOL ! that seller is a very knowledgeable board member I believe. I love his response to the question. His prices might not be to everyones liking, but he usually has a lot of nice cards.

Isn't the person who is requesting the card to be deleted off eBay in favor of his own auction in violation of eBay's rules?

I can't believe this listing was outed!! Couldn't the Q&A have been brought up once the lot closed. I was just about to make a low ball offer but now everyone knows about it.

At least he recognized that the auction is a good option.

Jmad - Just out of curiosity, if you currently own a T206 Demmitt, St.Louis or were to acquire one in VG-EX condition, what would your selling price be?

By the way, the seller is a stand up guy and his answer was classic!

"to stick it to the man"
verb (intransitive),(idiomatic) To take some action intended to defy a source of oppression such as globalization, commercialization, big business or government.

. . or auction houses. A TKO for the average Joe. Good job!

Default Auction

That was a classic response. Seller is a good guy, I have won auctions from him before with no issues...

I wasn't referring to that card in particular, just in general. I'm not saying he is a bad guy either. I have several saved searches and they are up there on the high end of BIN's.

Agreed- his answer was great!!

That seller is a well known dealer so I'm surprised the "auction house" didn't know better.

He also has the balls to list stuff like a T3 Matty and an N172 Hoss portrait for .99 so I don't get the high price, saved searches thing.

I do understand an auction house fishing eBay for consignments. Isn't that how they all do it?
