Default Looking for some help from the experts

I'm trying to determine if any of these players have any truly rare/obscure rookie cards (ie non-Topps/OPC). Any help would be appreciated.

Joe Montana (I am aware of the MSA Disc, looking for more rare)
Ronnie Lott (1982 Team Issue? Others?)
Jerry Rice (I am aware of the McDonald's, looking for more rare)
Terry Bradshaw (I am aware of the Dell's, looking for more rare)
Joe Greene (I am aware of the Kellogg's, looking for more rare)
Lynn Swann
John Stallworth

Thanks.

Great question, Andy. I try and keep track of "pre-rookie/rookie" cards that are obscure for all of the HOFers. You've touched on most of the ones I'm aware of but I'm sure there are regional / oddball stuff out there that I don't know about.

The only one I know of that you didn't mention is the Topps Game card for Terry Bradshaw.

Default Thanks Jeff

I am most interested in Regional / Oddball items. I'm hoping that they exist, and that fellow board members are aware of them so they can share.

The collector who runs this site is a member here, but I didn't find a pre rookie prior to 1971 Kelloggs (there were a few later items that weren't from mainstream sets though): http://www.footballcardgallery.com/s...rch=joe+greene

I thought of one more thing..... In the current issue of GG, there is an article: The Super Collector - Joe Montana Super Collector Don Nguyen
by Jared Kraus

I no longer have the issue, but I was surprised to learn there are literally thousands of Montana cards - I think most of these were issued after he retired, but I would have never expected the count to be that high. Could someone check if any pre-rookies are mentioned?

No pre-rookies are mentioned. The rarest card discussed is a 1993 Japanese Mitsubishi Phone Card (train variation) that Jared had heard exists but has never seen.

Have you seen this one?

Also, surprised there is nothing from KDKA of any of those Steelers.

From the description it sounds like this "card" was cut from a larger team composite. Did I read that right? If so, I don't consider this really a card and hate when people ruin historical collecting artifacts by cutting them up.

I get that for sure. Just saw it when I was doing a quick search on the KDKA stuff and thought I'd check. Good luck with your search.
