Looks like you're making great progress Bob on one of my favorite sets.

I've been working on the 1909 Obak Horizontal cards. Picked up Mohler last month and Mr. Wiggs arrived today. Six down four more to go.

Default 1909 Obak set complete, and chance to complete fellow net54'ers set as well

Just received the pictured 1909 Obak of Fitzgerald, which was the final card I needed to complete the set...hooray! I started the set about 11 years ago, but suffered a six year dry spell where I was stuck needing just two cards, the Shinn and Fitzgerald. Our own Anthony S. remembered I needed the Shinn a few months ago and made sure one ended up my hands, and then notified me last month that this Fitzgerald was available, so he was incredibly instrumental in helping me tame the Monster's PCL cousin. Thanks!

Now here is the chance to help Anthony out...he is down to just needing one card--Speas--to finish his 1909 Obak set, as you can see in his BST posting. These cards can be elusive, but someone out there probably has one available, and can help make Anthony's day

After having lost out on a Mathewson and Johnson over the last year or so, was very happy to add this PM1 to the collection...

Default T332 Fred Toney

My first Fred Toney of the new year for my small but growing Toney collection. Special Thanks to Rhett for letting me know this got posted on ebay. I have been looking for one of these for a while now. If only I could find a D381 Toney or a E135 or Boston Store Toney now I would be so happy. I am content with this gem for now. If these were issued in 1911, I am surprised Toney made it into this issue because Toney only pitched in a couple of game for the cubs in 1911. I am glad he made it in though.

Default My newest additions...

Recently, I completed a trade with another member of net54 and got 19 Obaks (t212-3), a n172 timmed/skinned Maines, and a 1911 Zeenut...Here are a few of my favorites....I also got Spiesman, Strand, Sutor, Tiedeman, Wiggs, Zimmerman, Seaton, Raleigh, Pernoll, Adams, Moskiman, Erickson...I've noticed a few people completing the other sets, so if anyone needs any of these pm me and I'll try to help you out...(I got the Brown pin at a local show)..

Picked up this sharp looking Waddell portrait from fellow member Ron Rice. What a BLAZER! Sharp colour! Well centred! Super nice for the grade! An A+ transaction, thanks Ron!

Default Top left corner of Bastian

I think that 'divit' that goes through to the back of the card will cost a full grade; I'd say 3.5-4

Thanks, guys.

The carton now contains one pack. According to the previous owner, it once contained 40-some full packs. She had acquired it/them at a country store auction in Gettysburg, PA in 2006 or 2007, but has been selling the packs off one by one since. I'm sure some board members have picked some of them up.

The pack's tax stamp was cancelled in July 1905, and both the pack and the carton are marked as coming from Factory 25 in Virginia. Slightly pre-T card era, but pretty darn close.

Nice double play combo Patrick. Now you just need to learn the poem verbatim, and you'll have a presentation with few rivals.

New pickups ... cards I never thought I'd find!

Burkett was from Clean Sweep. I just received it, less than 24 business hours after I mailed the check!
