Default Scab photos

Does anyone have any photos of 1987 scab players? Specifically from the Chargers but I find photos of any players from any team interesting.

I am sorry I don't have anything to offer other than a quick story. I have a friend who plays upper level softball outside of Lexington, KY. They had a tournament one weekend and two of their players (former UK football players) showed up and said, "we're sorry guys, we can't play this weekend because we've been signed by the Broncos" and left to fly to Denver. I think Steve's team had to forfiet a couple of games but managed to get players for the rest of the tournament.

Frankly, that was one of the more fascinating four game stretches in sports history.

I was working in radio at the time. We had one DJ who quite seriously called every NFL team trying to catch on with a fabricated story about being a D2 cornerback.

Yeah, I’ve got to believe there are hundreds of other fun/interesting stories behind the scab players. Sure would make a great read wether you were pro or against the scabs.

ESPN's 30 for 30 called "Year of the Scab" is worth a watch. It focuses on the scab players from the Redskins but documents a pretty interesting time in NFL history.
