I guess I need some education...lol... why would THIS particular card go up in price so much??? Isnt i just a common??? Typical ex 5's auction prices end in the $100.00-$120.00 range. Why this one so high?

You guys have the Floor! THanks!

Just from first glance, it looks to me to be a typical "bidding war". Other than the two highest bidders, only one other bidder was above $78.

Yeah, but that "one other" bidder was at $211 (well over $78).

They can have it for $263.00!!! I however, will go the PATIENT route, and wait till I can hopefully obtain the card for a decent price.lol. Bidding wars are funny.

I guess if you want the card bad enough...It's your pocket book, by all means go for it, but if its just for the thrill of winning, mighty steep fall if you really can't afford it.

I recently started a thread about the soaring prices of PSA 6's. In June 2005 6's were selling at near $125 and last month some were hitting $400+. I guess 5's are starting to catch up.

I don't recall any PSA 6s with no qualifiers going for less than $125 since late 2003 / early 2004. But 'tis true that PSA 6 prices have skyrocketed.

Sorry Scot, I wasn't specific with my statement. The 6's were selling near $125. Possibly $125-$175 range. I documented ever card sold on e-bay, because that was the time I started my T206 set and I wanted to get a feel for what 4's, 5's and 6'were selling for. 4's have moved very little. I can still pick up a 4 around $50 most of the time. I'm glad I picked up the few 5's I have. I purchased 3 in June and all 3 were under $80.

I have been follow T206s on ebay for over 5 years and there always seems to be time periods when PSA 5s go for 2 to 4 times what they normally go for. The people on the set registry must get on once or twice a year and just go nuts. the prices will probably settle down in a week or 2.
