And yet, here's a couple much worse Gotch's residing in PSA holders.

Conspiracy brain in me, tells me they looked these up since they are very low pop already, saw they were in SGC holders, and hammered them properly.

The other part of me tells me they need to start instituting a 10 point scale within the 1 to 2 point scale that already exists....because the way they are grading cards nowadays, the variance of how a card appears in grades under 2, seems to make the entire grading scale entirely irrelevant. Might as well just call any card under a 3 "Authentic", and let buyers and sellers duke it out on "eye appeal" alone.

Ouch. Unless there's damage not evidence in the photo like wrinkling, I have a hard time seeing these. I'd give Hackenshmidt a 3.5 so a 3 isn't far off, but all the Gotch's are just... how?

Since we've got 5 T224/9 Gotch's in this thread, here's #6. Mine is worse than the rest, whatever the slabs say. Pet back.

Don’t get me wrong - I’m ecstatic to own these cards. The assigned grade is fairly meaningless on these issues; the cards are what they are - really tough. I prefer PSA holders, but I woulda liked the higher number! Sometimes you win at the game and sometimes you don’t.

I know. I sold him one of those Gotch’s.

They are low pop, both raw and graded. Images could easily be matched up with graded copies found online.

Probably unlikely, but I did use the term “conspiracy brain” for a reason.

The man on the street has no chance these days. I have hundreds of cards I'd submit if I thought they would be fairly graded, but it's clear they won't be.

Wow, those are some great looking Gotch cards. I agree that the grading was harsh.

I think it's British humor. They've got our numbers. No, not our phone numbers.

Man, it's been awhile since I've made a boxing section post. I need to find some more T218's.
