Default NY Post article on Halper Fraud

Todays New York Post has an article co-written by Peter Nash about the "problems" with the Barry Halper collection. Nothing really earth shattering, and yes, he's writing a book about it.

Maybe Nash can take the 5K he'll make off the book and pay Rob Lifson the money he owes him?

I haven't followed it that closely, but I thought the conventional wisdom was that Halper was a scamee, not a scammer.

I think that Halper legitimately thought his items were authentic. BUT he created a web of stories behind every item to convince everyone else of their authenticity. It's one thing to get scammed, but once it became obvious that was scammed, it was all the proof we needed to know that he was a liar as well. Forrest Gump couldn't come up with the stories that Halper did.
