I just finished a downloadable non sport/collecting book, called 'Understanding Visual Illusions.' It covers the basics of how visual illusions 'work'-- mirages, Escher, illusion of depth in art, misperceptions in your daily life that are not even aware happen. It covers the physiology, psychology, philosophy and optics, but is intended to be understandable by even beginners to the subject. It is also well illustrated with many examples, from horror movies stills to the changeup pitch.

David,

Nice job. I always spend a lot of time on sensation and perception (esp. visual) in my intro psych classes.

This post is an illusion. So is the T206 Wagner PSA8. My fried egg that looks like the virgin mary is very real.

I got a bunch of fireguys here in the office. Initially, we thought you were full of sh**. We then printed out the drawing and now we eat crow. Thanks David, this was a fun diversion.

Thanks David,

This occupied a lot of time that would have been spent reading posts, looking at cards, etc... It is definitely interesting. Reminds me of the 3D images that when you look at them for awhile, other images jump out at you. I'm sure you could explain the logic behind those as well.

RC
