Default 1st t205 today

just got back from the card show at vets memorial in columbus and picked up my first t205 and its bris lord it's raw but in vg cond only paid $20 for it which is a decent deal since i can see and hold what i'm buying. I really like these cards because they have a little bio on the back and this will be my new venture to collect the t205 set. i had fun with my 2 year old and bought her a pack of 1987 topps for her to open it was only .25c but she seemed to enjoy her time there. i was talking to a dealer of bagger sports cards he had great stuff for sale by the way and was told nationals will be in cleveland next year which has me very excited because its a 2 hour drive and can finally put a face to some of you collectors that i talk to from time to time so hope you have fun at nationals this year see you next year.

Default Cleveland or Chicago?

I could be wrong but I thought they moved the National to Chicago next year.

That's funny. My first T205 was a Bris Lord too. American Beauty back. I've always loved this card.

Thanks,

My first was a Stovall SC back. I've since picked up a few different backs. Always have an eye out for a beater Hindu. Chicago hosts in 2013 and Cleveland is now 2014.

2013 Chicago - 7/31 thru 8/4

"The next three Nationals will be held in 2012: Baltimore; 2013: Chicago and 2014: Cleveland; 2015: Chicago. Restrictions from convention centers in other cities seem to be the stumbling block in moving the show to other places beyond the Midwest."

Glad to see another T205 collector starting out. Now that you have Bris Lord (the easier of the two Lords to pick up) you need to find Harry Lord (which is slightly more difficult to find) and you will be on your way to collecting the set.

I was at the Vets Show Saturday and probably passed you in the aisle not knowing you were a Net 54 member. Actually there are quite a few members from central Ohio who attend that show.

Not sure if you are planning on picking up more T205's.... but I would suggest to go at it in small chunks. Consider obtaining all the minor league players first, maybe concentrate on the short prints etc.. Overall the set can be very rewarding.

The reason I say concentrate on the minor league players is because there are just a few of them and probably the most beautiful cards in the set. If you can get thru them you will probably be hooked.

Feel free to PM me before the next Vets show so we can say hello.

Thanks,

Matt
