Default Now that they are over....1912 PCL pins...

Posted By: Dave F

Was a little dissapointed not to have picked one of these up, looks like they all went to the same person. Any thoughts on prices? I couldn't find any recorded prices of these before...seem pretty scarce.

Hi Dave,
I to was watching them. They are a hard item to find as Randall said they dont come up very often but when they do there is usually very strong bidding for them. There is a very strong following for any PCL pins as was reflected in the price. As I always say you can throw the book out when it comes to some of these issues. Standard catalog guides these at 275 in NRMT. I would say the 3 were from Ex+ to ExMT. So to get the prices they did shows how hard they are to come by.

I put in fairly (I thought) substantial bids on all three pins. Two bids weren't even registered and the third I simply lost. I suspect whatever I bid would have only driven the price up with the same result.

I would love to know who the winner was as it looks like we collect the same type of items. Congrats to him/her !

Mark
