Default Shoeless Joe's Black Betsy - Wow, up for auction...

Didn't think this would come up for auction for quite sometime - on Ebay of all places too; one of these days, I'll save up enough of my lunch money to buy this sucker!

It's got a lot of good documentation, but my favorite is that it's included in Joe's will. Hard to top that.

I think they use it more for a marketing piece than anything else due to the # of times I've seen it listed.

Actually, I believe this bat was on the auciton block not more than 1 year ago.. in fact I am certain of it. I know I am getting old but surely not that old. If memory serves me correctly, it was on eBay then also but I don't think it met the reserve..

That bat is always on ebay, the exact price and the exact amount to be donated change, but the huge opening bid remains.

If they had any real interest in causing some interest they would start the bidding at 99 cents with a reserve.

So can you use your Microsoft cashback of 14%? If so, that's $196,000 off the "Buy It Now" price.

Agree with above... but also, a fellow wanting to sell that should
have more than one photo. Close up photos and a scan of the will,
then you'd have something!

I'm not criticizing, as there is nothing wrong with posting a picture of yourself with a famous piece of memorabilia, but that the listing has about 8 pics of the owner says the listing may be more a promotional thing than an auction.
