Default Is there a $10,000 dollar Old judge card?

Posted By: joe

Not including the California Old Judges are there any sales or auctions this high for any Old Judge card? Probably showing my ignorance here, but just wondering.

Thanks joe

Joe,

An example would be a McPhee OJ selling for over $10K recently. I'm sure that there are collectors that would easily pay $10K+ for high grade examples of HOF players, hard to find players or just tough cards. I'm certain that a high grade example of an Anson, Wright or Delahanty would easily top $10K...

The last REA had several examples including high grade Wright & Delahanty each clearing $17,000 and an Anson hitting $27.5k. Each of those examples claiming to be the finest in existence. There was also a high grade Kelly (high grade being an understatment) at last years National that cleared 6 figures. There have also been non-HOFer cards outside of California Leaguers that have exceeded five figures.

Many ways to collect OJs, be it on a budget or unlimited funds. Define a realistic strategy and let the fun begin.

Best Regards,
Joe Gonsowski

Thanks guys for the response, I thought the Anson was one and McPhee, was not sure if any others had sold that high.

Don't forget Mike "King" Kelly whose card is worth $10,000 even (as designated on the card).

It makes you wonder if people joked about something like that way back then... they probably would have laughed it off as a huge joke... not anymore!

Check out www.legacyrarities.com

It's Greg Bussineau's company -- he is very solid and he has a psa 9 OJ Keefe I think for around $30k
