The holder says replica piece, so the name assigned to the pieces of cloth might as well be Reggie Jackson, Al Capone or Greta Garbo

Would something like that really appeal to anyone even if it was from an authentic jersey? Other than maybe topps to use for actual cards.

From an authentic game used jersey, yes. From a random pinstriped dish towel, no.
